Dan Perjovschi:From Now On

Curated by: Lívia Páldi Romanian artist Dan Perjovschi makes drawings that resemble cartoons or graffiti, and which are parts of site-specific or work-in-progress projects. He not only makes humorous comments on the location and environment of the work, but also creates stories of a subtle irony. His recurring subjects are situations, political and social issues, like the post-communist identity, economic, political and social anomalies and absurdities, the cultural interaction of East-European and Western art, and he is a keen satirist of several forms of moral weakness, especially in public life. His wall-drawings in the Műcsarnok reflect on current global and local cultural, political and social issues, as well as the exhibition itself and its context. Perjovschi is also a guest editor of IDEA - Art and Society, Cluj. He lives and works in Bucharest.
Dan Perjovschi was born in 1961 in Sibiu, Romania He works as the editor and political illustrator of 22 magazine, Bucharest and as guest editor of I D E A - arts + society, Cluj. He lives and works in Bucharest.
