Flying Balloon Creatures Get creative in company
Come and make your fabulous colourful creatures on the terrace of Műcsarnok – we’ll give you a hand if needed. Rally, ye wizards of balloon snakes, dragons, butterflies, elves and birds!

KoMa, a company of young actors performs a play by one of the most exciting contemporary Hungarian authors, László Garaczi. Plazma is an amusing case study of life today, of cases current, cultural and moral.

Listen to the Lights!
The current state of the kind of modern music that contains electronic, multimedia and interactive elements can in certain terms be compared to the orally transmitted culture of old times. The “musical instruments” or “devices” are constantly changing and evolving, as was the piano at the time of Bach or Mozart. Not only does this present obstacles to the performance of electronic pieces, but interactivity has come to question the very notion of a “musical piece,” with the functions of the composer and the performer blurring, and with performances often becoming irreproducible.
The aural and visual experience that is the concert on Museum Night is the result of a year-long cooperation between the Electro-acoustic Musical Institute of the Viennese Academy of Music and the Computer Music Studio of the Budapest Academy of Music. The works are performed on acoustic instruments and computers, the latter being controlled with a variety of means: laser beams, game control glove, Wii controller, contact microphone, etc. One of the most spectacular “instruments” is a laser harp, which uses laser beams to play and transform sounds stored on a computer.

Műcsarnok’s very own favourite, DJ KEN entertains you on the Terrace.

Vodku concert
The pub songs of Odessa, with Bulgarian, Hassidic, Albanian and Galician tunes and dances in a variety of interpretations. Mind the fun coming in from East and Central Europe! The band VODKU plays reinterpretations of Central and Eastern European folk tunes, and its own compositions, which employ motifs from the former. They have been touring Europe and overseas for 15 years, and their concerts are remembered for their consummate cheerfulness.
“Their music is giving the classic klezmer treatment to the pub songs of Odessa, and the folk tunes of the Balkans, Moldavia, Hungary and other Central-European regions. For instantaneous success, they add a dash of jazz and other progressive trends. It also takes, of course, musicians who play with heart and mind, who enjoy what they are doing, and bring their instruments to life.” (Index-Kelet, September 9, 2005)
